Steve Boom
Chief Executive Officer

A veteran of both the Internet and mobile industries, Steve brings to mig33 more than a decade of experience in building global businesses and teams.

Prior to joining mig33, Steve Boom enjoyed a successful 10-year career at Yahoo! Inc. in a variety of senior management positions. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of the Connected Life division, where he had global responsibility for the company's mobile business. Under Steve's leadership, Yahoo! aggressively established itself as an early leader in the mobile Internet with award-winning products, such as Yahoo! Go and oneSearch, and dozens of wide-ranging partnerships with mobile operators and handset OEMs around the world. Steve joined Yahoo! in London as business development director, where he was responsible for strategic alliances and new business models across Europe, including some of the industry's first-ever mobile Internet partnerships.

Steve began his career as an attorney with Venture Law Group in Silicon Valley, where he has advised numerous Internet and software startups.

Steve holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Steven is well experienced in developing and delivering successful Internet services for consumers, having first founded Australia's first online stock brokerage company Sanford Securities Limited, prior to co-founding mig33.

Steven was previously the principal founder and CEO of Sanford Securities Limited. From a start-up business in 1996, Steven grew Sanford to 160,000 customers with $66 million in sales over six years and 33.4 billion in customer assets, prior to its acquisition by financial services company IWL Limited in 2003. Steven is recognized as an authority on contemporary IT issues.

Steven was awarded an inaugural Western Australia Business News "40 under 40" Award in 2002, and he was a finalist in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Australia's Western Region. Steven has extensive private and public board experience, has served as a keynote speaker and panelist at Internet, financial services industry, and mobile technology conferences in Australia and Asia, and has appeared on CNBC and Bloomberg TV.

Steven received both a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Western Australia.


Doug Bewsher
Chief Marketing Officer

Doug has been leading marketing organizations in the mobile and digital space for over 15 years. He currently oversees all consumer facing activities for mig33.

Prior to mig33, Doug was Managing Director of the San Francisco office of Digitas Modem, a leading strategic marketing and digital media agency. He led the office to a number of high profile client wins, and ran a large creative, technology and media team through Digitas' acquisition by Publicis.

Prior to Modem, Doug was Global Director of Customer Marketing for Vodafone, driving the uptake of 3G data services in Europe and the rebranding of Vodafone globally to be the world's largest mobile brand. He has also served as a Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, co-leading the North American CRM practice, and as a European brand manager for Unilever. Doug co-founded in 2008 NotaBene LLC, a professional development organization focused on helping individuals develop well structured and impactful communications.

Doug has an MBA with distinction from INSEAD, and an MA in Physics from Oxford University.



Mei Lin Ng
Co-founder and VP of Marketing

Mei Lin oversees marketing, communications, and customer service at mig33. As co-founder of mig33, Mei Lin was responsible for driving customer growth and heavily involved in the product development process. As the popularity of the services grew into a mobile community with millions of users across Asia, Africa and Europe, the founding team secured venture capital and relocated the company to the US in 2007, to further accelerate the business.

Before co-founding mig33, Mei Lin was the marketing manager with Australian financial services firm, Sanford Securities Limited. There, Mei Lin substantially influenced the growth and sustainability of the retail and wholesale divisions during a period of depressed markets. Revenues from these divisions accounted for over 50 percent of Sanford's total revenues (over mig330m per annum). In addition, Mei Lin was involved with corporate dealings and public affairs issues during Sanford's engagement with both the OM Group (now OMX stock exchange) and IWL Limited.

Mei Lin has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with Honors in Marketing from the University of Western Australia.

David Moore
Chief Financial Officer

David oversees the corporate and finance functions at mig33 and brings more than 15 years experience in both high-growth and mature business environments. He most recently served as VP Finance for Charles Schwab where he had financial management responsibility for three enterprise groups with combined annual budgets of over $400 million. Prior to this, he served as VP Finance and Treasurer for NorthPoint Communications, a publicly-traded broadband telecommunications company, where he was responsible for the capital raising process and long-term business planning until the Company was acquired by AT&T Corporation in May 2001. Following the acquisition, he remained with AT&T during the transition period, managing cross-functional projects focused on margin enhancement and cost control in the Consumer Services business lines.

David also has experience in consulting as well as corporate and investment banking. His background includes serving as a Senior Associate in the Financial Advisory Services group of Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), an Associate with Frost Capital Partners (a boutique investment bank focused on digital content), and as a corporate banker at Wachovia.

David holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BA in mathematics from Vanderbilt University.

Francis H. Yu
VP of Engineering and Operations

Francis oversees engineering and operations at mig33. Francis brings 20 years of technology and engineering experience to mig33. Previously, he led engineering and operations at a la Mobile, a developer of mobile Linux software, and Sonim Technologies, a provider of VoIP and push-to-talk solutions. Prior to that, Francis was Vice President of the Device Product Group at Openwave Systems, where he led the development and deployment of the company's mobile browser product, built and managed a worldwide organization, and shipped software on hundreds of millions of devices across hundreds of models.

Before Openwave, Francis served as Chief Operating Officer of Intellimatch and spent six years at Oracle in various capacities, including senior director roles in engineering, marketing and professional services.

Francis holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University. He also attended Fudan University in Shanghai, China.


Martin Wells
VP, Product

Martin oversees product strategy and management at mig33. Prior to mig33 Martin was the Founder and CEO of Tangler, a developer of web 2.0 chat and forum tools. He's driven the product and technology for Intercom, one of Australia's first ISP's and led as CTO at Dot Communications. Prior to this, he managed mobile game start up Tasman Studios.

As an expert programmer in information technology, Marty specializes in scalable systems development and has also published an award winning book 'J2ME Game Programming' in 2004. Marty's an active blogger in technology circles, and has organized industry events including founding 'Dinner 2.0' and STIRR in Sydney, Australia.

Martin is a graduate from the Control Data Institute in Sydney, Australia.

Steven is the co founder and an Executive Vice President at mig33. He is also the Executive Chairman of Australian financial services company Bell Direct.

Kevin Efrusy

Kevin came to Accel in 2003 and currently serves as a General Partner. His background is primarily as an entrepreneur and operating executive. He served two stints as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers where he started Corio, an ASP pioneer that went public on Nasdaq and was acquired by IBM in 2005. Later he served as the first CEO of IronPlanet, an online marketplace for heavy equipment which currently sells in excess of $170M/year of equipment. Prior to KPCB, Kevin served as a product manager at Zip2 and a consultant at Bain & Company.

Kevin invests broadly in software and Internet businesses, but he focuses on consumer Internet companies, open source software, and wireless application providers. He co-led Accel's investment in The Facebook and Tumri, currently serves on the boards of BBN Technologies, Hyperic, Medio Systems, Metacafe, mig33, Xensource, and Terracotta. He is also actively involved in Riverbed Technology and Transera.

Kevin has an MSEE, BSEE, and BA in Economics all from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was an Arjay Miller scholar.

Scott Raney

Scott Raney is a Partner with Redpoint Ventures focusing on infrastructure and software investments in the enterprise, wireless, and consumer segments. Scott serves on the board of directors of mig33 and LetsTalk, and is involved with Redpoint's investments in Cortina Systems, JumpTap, Mobilygen, MobiTV, and Kodiak Networks.

Prior to joining Redpoint, Scott served as Senior Manager of New Products with NorthPoint Communications, a data CLEC providing nationwide DSL services. Scott managed NorthPoint's first consumer product and led product development of other new products. Prior to NorthPoint, Scott worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he helped clients in the private equity and telecommunications industries. Previously, Scott was the Director of Engineering for VideoPort Technologies, a developer of videoconferencing hardware. Scott began his career at Andersen Consulting as a member of the Advanced Technology Group where he assisted clients in the telecommunications industry.

Scott holds a B.S.E.E. with high distinction from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.


Richard Yanowitch

Richard Yanowitch is a successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur with a proven track-record transforming early-stage companies into high-growth market leaders, creating millions of customers, billions of dollars in revenue, and multi-billions of dollars in sustained shareholder value. Since September 2006, he has served as venture partner for Accel Partners, with a particular focus on digital media. He currently serves as an independent director on the boards of video ad network, Yume, and global mobile social network, mig33.

Prior to Accel, Richard served as Vice Chairman of the NDS Group, a $600 million market leader in digital media technologies, and as Senior Consultant to the News Corporation. For nearly five years, he served as Executive Vice President for internet services provider VeriSign, where his team built numerous high-growth businesses and led its international expansion, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenues. He participated in VeriSign's strategic financings, IPO, and acquisitions. VeriSign grew from 30 to 2,500 employees and from $500,000 to $700 million in revenue during this period, creating a multi-billion dollar market valuation. Richard reported to Stratton Sclavos, Chairman and CEO.

Prior to VeriSign, Richard served as Vice President of Corporate Marketing for database provider Sybase, where his team drove core marketing operations, including marketing communications, direct marketing, product marketing, customer acquisition, and international. He participated in Sybase's late-stage financings, IPO and acquisitions. Sybase grew from 300 to 5,000 employees and from $10 million to nearly $900 million in annual revenue during this period, generating a multi-billion dollar market valuation. Richard reported to Dr. Stuart Schuster, Executive Vice President.

Prior to Sybase, Richard was Director of Strategic Marketing at UNIX operating system provider The SCO Group, where he was lead negotiator for a breakthrough Microsoft licensing agreement and investment. SCO grew from $5 million to mig334 million in revenue during this period, subsequently going public and achieving a half-billion dollar market valuation. Prior to SCO, Richard held various sales, marketing, and management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation and Lanier Harris. He also served as entrepreneur in residence at the venture capital firm IVP.

Richard received a B.A. in the Honors Program for Classical Studies at Swarthmore College and a MBA from the Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of directors of the Bay Area Discovery Museum. He is married to Wendy Shuman Kesser, a former Executive Producer for ABC News in San Francisco, and they have two children. He also serves as a senior advisor to national congressional leaders on economic leadership, entrepreneurialism, and the Internet.


Dixon R. Doll

For more than 35 years, Dixon has influenced and guided entrepreneurs, investors and executives in the computer and communications industries. In recognition of his accomplishments in venture capital, Dixon was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 100 venture investors on its Midas List for the past four years, as well as one of the top 100 personalities involved in creating the information highway by Upside Magazine. In April, 2005, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Venture Capital Association in Washington, D.C. He was recently appointed to the NVCA Executive Committee, is chairing the 2007 Annual Meeting, and will become NVCA Chairman-elect in April, 2007.

Since the early 1980s, Dixon has been a telecom and Internet venture capital pioneer. In 1996 he launched DCM, an early stage technology venture capital firm which currently has more than $1.5 Billion under management, headquartered in Menlo Park, California. DCM has backed such well known entrepreneurial companies as About.com, @Motion, Clearwire, 51job, Foundry Networks, Internap, Ipivot, Neutral Tandem, PGP Corp., Recourse Technologies, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp, and Sling Media. DCM has become widely recognized as one of the top Silicon Valley venture firms actively investing in China and Japan. In the mid-1980s, Dixon cofounded the venture capital industry's first fund focused exclusively on telecommunications opportunities. Those funds he organized launched such noteworthy companies as Alantec, Bridge Communication, Centillion Networks, Network Equipment Technologies, Optilink, Picturetel, Polycom, and UUNet.

Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Dixon was the founder and CEO of an internationally recognized strategic consulting firm focused on telecommunications and computer networking. From 1972 to 1980, Dixon also served as a faculty member of the IBM Systems Research Institute in New York City, and then served on the IBM Networking Systems Organization's External Advisory Board from 1983 to 1991.

He has authored two books, and traveled extensively to six continents to give highly sought after lectures and conference presentations. Through their family foundation, he and his wife, Carol, give generously to numerous educational and philanthropic organizations. Among these are, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco (where he serves as Chair of the museum's dual governing boards), San Francisco Symphony, Kansas State University, the University of Michigan Business School, the Papal Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and the University of San Francisco where he has served as the Investment Committee Chair. He also has served as a trustee or advisory board member for each of these organizations. He received his B.S.E.E. degree (cum laude) from Kansas State University as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, where he was a National Science Foundation scholar.


Richard Tan

Richard is Managing Director Commercial for PT Smart Telecom, a mobile operator in the fast growing Indonesian market. Prior to Smart, he was the Commerce Director at Telkomsel, the largest mobile operator in Indonesia by market share and jointly owned by PT Telkom and SingTel Ltd.

Richard also spent seven years in SingTel holding various top management positions and was instrumental in leading the integration of the international units of SingTel Singapore and SingTel Optus. The integration brought significant savings through the synergies generated by combining the two international voice businesses. Richard also created SingTel's Global Roaming eXchange (GRX) which became the primary hub for GPRS roaming connections in Asia Pacific. Given his background and involvement in the Internet since 1987, Richard also grew SingTel's VoIP wholesale hubbing service substantially - serving key customers such as Skype.

Prior to SingTel, Richard spent nearly two years at Maxis Communications Berhad and successfully built Maxis' ISP business. While at Digital Equipment Corporation, he was the solution architect for Singapore's first ISP SingNet Ltd which was launched in 1994. All the software components including billing which was required for the successful launch of SingNet was developed by Richard.

Richard has a MSEE and BSEE from the National University of Singapore.

Niren is VP of Business Development at Admob. He brings over 17 years of international experience at top Internet, Mobile and Media companies including Yahoo!, CBS Sportsline, MTV Networks, Plus Channel, and BPL Mobile (a France Telecom JV). Prior to AdMob, Niren led the investment and operating strategy for the Yahoo! Mobile Asia business unit and the integration of Yahoo! Japan and Vodafone KK (Softbank Mobile). At the age of 21, Niren founded a highly successful processed foods company in Japan.

Andrew Kent

Andrew Kent is founder and director of Australian technology company, Spry Business Technology Solutions Pty Ltd. Andrew brings a strong background in Internet IT systems having held a number of senior executive technology roles in high growth Internet businesses since 1992. Andrew served as CTO of OzEmail Ltd, one of Australia's leading Internet services providers from its beginning in 1992, through a NASDAQ listing, until its sale to UUNET / MCI in 2000.

CY brings 26 years of marketing and consumer experience, notably from Asia. CY has served at Executive and Board Positions with many prominent companies throughout Asia, notably Shell, telecommunications provider Maxis (largest Mobile Operator in Malaysia) and ASTRO Satellite Broadcast Services (biggest satellite operator in the Asian region with services in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei)
